Royals fall to Marauders

Hamilton Southeastern dropped a close game at Mount Vernon Saturday, 65-61.
The Royals led the IBCA No. 20 Marauders 12-9 after one quarter, then blasted ahead 25-14 during the second period before Mount Vernon used an 11-0 run to tie the game at 25-25 by halftime. Southeastern led 38-36 after three periods, but the Marauders poured in 29 points in the fourth quarter to get the win.
Sam Jacobs had an outstanding game, scoring 28 points, including four 3-pointers, and dishing out four assists. Reph Stevenson added 17 points and led the rebounding with eight.
The Royals are 5-9 and play a Hoosier Crossroads Conference game Friday at Noblesville.
