Hamilton Southeastern won its Senior Night game on Tuesday, cruising past Pike 61-44.
The Red Devils led the Royals 9-7 after the first quarter, but it was all Southeastern after that, as the Royals outscored Pike in each of the next three periods. Southeastern went ahead 20-17 by halftime; senior Makayla Hinshaw scored 12 points in the first half, making all seven of her free throws.
The Royals poured in 22 points in the third quarter to take a 42-34 lead. Riley Makalusky took over, scoring 13 points during that period. Southeastern then outscored the Red Devils 19-10 in the fourth quarter to pull away for the win.
“Really proud of everything this senior group has done for our program,” said HSE coach Brian Satterfield. “They have been great leaders on and off the court.”
Makalusky led with 21 points, followed by Hinshaw with 18 points. Olivia Brown had a great game with 10 assists, nine rebounds and four steals. Zoe Bolding had six rebounds and two blocked shots. Senior Ryan Viele, who has been out all season with an injury, got to start the game and also play some in the fourth quarter.
The Royals finished the regular season 14-7. Southeastern plays Fishers Tuesday in the opening game at Sectional 8, which is hosted by Westfield.
