The Rotary Club of Fishers is preparing for its fifth annual Charity Golf Outing on Monday, June 30 at Hawthorns Country Club, 12255 Club Point Drive, Fishers.
Proceeds of the outing funds Project Hope, a mental health initiative for local youth. Mental health challenges, including depression and anxiety, are common to teenagers, often affecting relationships, physical health, or academic performance. Teens may also suffer from disorders relating to eating or substance-abuse, and psychotic or personality disorders.
“We’re excited to partner with the Fishers Rotary Club to close out Spark!Fishers with the Charity Golf Outing benefiting Project Hope,” Fishers Parks & Recreation Director Marissa Deckert said. “This initiative plays a vital role in ensuring all students – regardless of insurance status – have access to mental health services. It’s a powerful reflection of our shared commitment to a culture of health and community support here in Fishers.”
The golf outing has raised $85,000 in the last four years. This year’s goal is $40,000. In the past, it has been a sold-out event with 128 participating golfers. Along with a silent auction, there are prizes for best team score, closest to the pin, longest drives, hole-in-one/win a car, and longest putt.
“The Fishers Rotary Charity Golf Outing is a lifeline for students in need,” HSE Schools Mental Health Coordinator Molly Kirwan said. “Proceeds from this event support a scholarship that ensures uninsured and under-insured students can access vital school-based mental health services. For many families, the choice between ongoing therapeutic support and basic needs is a painful one – and this fund helps remove that barrier. Project Hope is grateful to Fishers Rotary for its continuing support.”
