‘Rocks take care of Avon

Westfield picked up a solid Hoosier Crossroads Conference win at Avon Friday, 78-60.
The Shamrocks had its offense clicking right away, leading 22-16 after one quarter. Westfield then held a 42-26 advantage at halftime and jumped ahead 64-43 after three periods.
Braden Smith scored 25 points, one of four Shamrocks players in double figures scoring. Smith hit three 3-pointers, handed out nine assists and collected six rebounds. Cam Haffner contributed 14 points, Nic Depasquale added 12 points and Matthew Penley had 10 points and three blocked shots. Benji Welch pulled five rebounds.
Westfield continues to lead the HCC race with a 4-1 record and is 10-3 overall. The ‘Rocks host Muncie Central this afternoon.
