‘Rocks get overtime win

Westfield traveled to Lawrence Central on Saturday, and came home with a 59-52 overtime victory against the Bears.
The first half was back and forth: The Shamrocks blasted out to a 18-9 lead after the first quarter, but Lawrence Central came back to hold a 24-23 advantage at halftime. The second half was much tighter, with the ‘Rocks ahead 37-35 at the end of the third. The score was 48-48 after regulation, but Westfield outscored the Bears 11-4 in the extra period.
Alyssa Crockett scored 18 points for the Shamrocks, while Chesney Tebbe added 10 points. Crockett and Hailey Remaks each made seven rebounds, with Crockett blocking three shots. Ellie Kelleher collected five rebounds and Tebbe made five steals.
Westfield improved to 3-1 with the win and will host Fishers on Thursday.
