Westfield celebrated its Senior Night in great fashion Friday night, with a 97-66 win over Bowman Academy at The Rock.
The Class 4A No. 7 Shamrocks were in control from the beginning and outscored the Eagles in each of the four quarters. Westfield led 26-12 after the first period and 50-27 at halftime.
Braden Smith had another sensational game, throwing in five 3-pointers on his way to 26 points. The junior, who is getting notice from multiple Division I schools, came close to a triple-double as he also had nine rebounds and nine assists.
Cam Haffner added 23 points, including three triples. Matthew Penley, one of the seniors honored by Westfield, added 11 points and collected seven rebounds. Another senior, Luke VanDyke had seven points and six rebounds. The other two seniors on the team, Benji Welch and Luke Naas, added eight and six points respectively.
Westfield is still unbeaten for the season at 4-0. The Shamrocks play at Tipton tonight.
