Robert L. Kemp, Sr.

November 30, 1924 – November 22, 2021

Robert L. Kemp, Sr., 96, Elwood, passed away on Monday, November 22, 2021 at Riverwalk Village in Noblesville. He was born on November 30, 1924 to Charlie and Hazel (Bradfield) Kemp in Noblesville.

Robert worked as a lumber delivery driver for Lowe’s. He was a member of Zion Chapel in Elwood and loved singing hymns. Robert enjoyed working with his hands and was a woodworker. He made new friends wherever he went and loved being outdoors, walking and gardening. Most of all, Robert loved his family and cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his children, Robert (Rita) Kemp Jr., David Kemp, Phyllis Shawhan, Herbert (Julia) Kemp, Fredrick (Susan) Kemp, and Randy (Rose) Kemp; as well as many nieces and nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Maxine Kemp, who he married on December 24, 1948; sisters, Jenny Goff, Edith Rigdon, and Esther Knight; brothers, Elijah Kemp and Frank Kemp; and his son-in-law, Robert Leroy Shawhan.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. on Monday, November 29, 2021 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan St., Noblesville. Services will be held at noon on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Noblesville.
