Robert Kyle Fortson, SMGT

October 30, 1981 – October 11, 2023

Robert Kyle Fortson, SMGT, 41, Fishers, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2023. He was born on October 30, 1981, in Kokomo, Ind.

Robert proudly served in the United States Air Force National Guard for the last 23 years and was deployed four times to the Middle East. He was part of the AMMO division, and their motto was “IYAAYAS.” Robert was a 2000 graduate of Kokomo High School and a 2005 graduate of Indiana University. In college he was an IU football team manager and was a big fan of Bobby Knight and IU basketball. Robert was a coach for his daughter’s basketball team, and he enjoyed going to Disneyland. He was an avid basketball fan of all teams, especially the Kokomo Wildcats and IU Hoosiers.

He is survived by his wife, Monique Fortson; parents, Robert & Pamela Fortson; daughter, Isabella Fortson; in-laws, Kurt & Sherri Palmer; siblings, Kim (Rob) Campbell, Brad (Cassandra) Fortson, and Kelly (Chad) Ackerman; sisters-in-law, Veronica (Allen) Johnson, Gabrielle Palmer, and Makayla Palmer; brother-in-law, Fernando Parra; aunts, Nancy (Larry) Hill and Marilyn (Tim) Wall; uncle, Ron (Claudia) Fortson; several nieces and nephews; grandmother-in-law, Dora Salas; and God mother, Beverly Spoon.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fred & Marge Currens and Harold & Marge Fortson; God father, Bill Spoon; and uncle, Kent Pratt.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan St., Noblesville.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan St., Noblesville. An additional hour of visitation will be held starting at noon on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Highland Cemetery in Fishers.
