The Huntington University men’s basketball program announced the signing of Northside Lions high school standout Riley Vitales as its most recent recruit for 2018-19.
Vitales is a member of the Lions’ 1,000-point club having totaled 1,176 points during his four-year career. As a senior, the 6-2 guard averaged just shy of 16 points per contest to go along with collecting 5.2 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 3.3 steals each night.
The last two years Vitales was named an Indiana Homeschool All-Star. This past season he was also tabbed a Midwest Regional Championships Honorable Mention pick and as a junior, he earned Second Team All-Conference honors in addition to claiming a spot on the First Team All-Defense Team and receiving Academic All-Conference praises.
“We are glad Riley is going to be a Forester,” said HU Coach Ty Platt. “He is an athletic guard that can score, plays with a lot of confidence and will do whatever it takes to make his team better. Riley is also a very good student and a quality young man. He will be a great addition to our team and campus.”
Riley is the son of Ron and Tracy Vitales of Noblesville.
