The historic Monon caboose operated by Nickel Plate Express (NPX) will travel to Atlanta on Sunday, April 23 for a special $5 per person caboose ride as part of Atlanta’s Bicentennial celebration.
Rides will depart from Main Street in Atlanta from 1 to 3 p.m. Tickets will be available on site. These low-cost rides are thanks to Duke Energy. The energy company and NPX recently announced sponsorship for the 2023 season focused on bringing affordable train rides to Northern Hamilton County. Duke sponsorship ensures operating costs are covered for these special rides and makes them accessible to NPX guests regardless of income.
More information on caboose rides, along with schedule information and secure ticket-ordering for NPX’s popular themed excursions, is available at NickelPlateExpress.com. NPX’s historic railroad equipment is also available for chartered rides such as corporate events, weddings, and other gatherings.
