The coverage given by The Reporter to the proposed 10 percent increase of local income tax is appreciated.
The three articles have given us, your readers, the basic information we need to learn more from more in-depth sources. I can only hope that your colleagues in Carmel and Fishers have informed their readers of this proposed tax increase. It is too bad that this proposed increase does not require a vote by all citizens of Hamilton County.
As it stands, the State Legislature has established a method of passage that will allow the city councils of Carmel and Fishers to give all tax payers in the county a 10 percent increase, starting January 1, 2020.
