A team of students enrolled in the Hamilton County Leadership Academy (HCLA) began studying the Nickel Plate Rail corridor in fall 2016 to evaluate the ideal use of this corridor for all of Hamilton County – rail or trail.
While the scope and urgency of the team’s project changed with the February announcement by Fishers and Noblesville to convert 9.2 miles of the railroad tracks to a multipurpose trail – the intent to study both uses has not. The group’s fact-finding approach on the pros and cons of converting a rail corridor to a pedestrian trail will continue with a Community Conversation panel discussion and public forum on the Nickel Plate.

WHEN | Thursday, April 27, 2017 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. |
WHERE | Hamilton Heights High School – Auditorium 25802 SR 19, Arcadia, IN 46030 |
WHY | With the current discussions taking place in the cities and towns of Hamilton County about the Nickel Plate, citizens and community leaders can hear from local experts on the potential for rail and/or trail |

These questions will be discussed by the panelists as time permits after the initial panel discussion comes to a close. We kindly ask those attending to be respectful and courteous when expressing thoughts and comments.
