This Thanksgiving, thousands of runners will lace up to support their neighbors’ health and well-being at a 5K in Fishers hosted by YMCA of Greater Indianapolis.
From runners in turkey costumes to families jogging together before the big feast, the 5K offers a festive atmosphere and a great way to give back in gratitude.
The Wishbone 5K will take place at Fishers YMCA, 9012 E. 126th St. There is an 8 a.m. start and registration is $40. Click here to register.
The race offers a festive and family-friendly atmosphere, complete with camaraderie, custom event swag and awards for top finishers. A virtual option is also available for participants who prefer to log their miles at their own pace and place.
“Exercise not only boosts energy and releases endorphins, it strengthens our mental focus and overall well-being,” said Michael Farris, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis. “By joining a YMCA Thanksgiving 5K, participants are fueling their own health while helping others in our community do the same.”
Whether you run, walk, or trot, every step supports stronger bodies, brighter minds, and a more connected community.
So before you gather around the Thanksgiving table, gather at the Y and move with purpose, gratitude, and joy.
