Submitted by Vicki Cooper

Delta Chapter of Phi Beta Psi Sorority, Arcadia, had three members at the convention held July 18 to 20  in Cincinnati, Ohio. The theme of the convention was “Rollin’ on the River.”

Kathy Kirkendorfer and Vicki Cooper were Delta’s delegates, and Suzanne Walton also attended. Other local members in attendance were Lisa Fettig and Kaylee Stewart of Theta Delta of Tipton, and Suzanne Lyon and Nancy Day of Theta Alpha Alpha of Sheridan.

Convention highlights included voting to send $63,473 to each of six cancer research doctors in Florida, Texas, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Tennessee, and Pennsylvania for a total of $380,838 for cancer research donated for the year ending May 31. Phi Beta Psi members are proud of the work of their Sorority, especially coming out of COVID and its effect on everyone.

There were proposed changes to the bylaws to consider, as well as election of three new officers and selection of the 2025 convention site: Lexington, Ky.

There were 192 members in attendance from 40 chapters and eight states.  The chapter that came the farthest was Gamma Delta from Federal Way, Wash. – 2,330 miles.

Several members have attained their 50 years of membership, and many received the honor of Life Memberships from their chapters.

Finally, members actually got to “roll” on the Ohio River on Tuesday the 19th with a dinner cruise.
