Paul L. Wood Jr., 81, Noblesville, passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at his home. He was born on December 13, 1943, to Paul, Sr. and Dorothy (Bauer) Wood in Cleveland, Ohio.
Paul had many jobs throughout his career, he worked in Ohio for a Congressman, in radio as “Paul Baby,” for Indiana Vets Home, Hamilton County Red Cross, and in the newspaper industry. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, and served as an elder at the First Presbyterian Church of Noblesville. Paul was an avid golfer and great cook. In his younger years, he enjoyed coaching his sons’ baseball teams. Paul attended 20 Indianapolis 500 races and was a supporter of the USGA. He loved watching his grandchildren’s activities, and spending time with his family on vacation cruises and on Siesta Keys.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Candis Wood; sons, Marty (Beth) Wood and Sean (Melanie) Wood; brother, George (Ardie) Wood; grandchildren, Sean, Parker, and Kenzie Wood; and step-grandchildren, Nick Altherr, Danielle Choma, and James Ineson.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at First Presbyterian Church of Noblesville, 1207 Conner St., Noblesville, with Pastor Eric Gale officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to the time of service at the church. Burial will be at Hamilton Memorial Park Cemetery in Westfield.
