Otis LaMar Sailor, 94, Fishers, formerly of Elkhart, Ind., passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at Greenwood Village South in Greenwood, Ind. He was born on May 6, 1929, to Oscar and Chloe (Dillman) Sailor in Wakarusa, Ind.
Otis graduated from Wakarusa High School in 1947. He proudly served in the United States Army in the Korean War. He retired from Motor Supply Company in Elkhart as a machinist after 35 years. Otis was a faithful member of Noblesville First United Methodist Church. He and his wife Elizabeth attended their Bible study classes. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed watching sports, especially the Chicago Cubs. Otis loved traveling all over the United States. In his retirement years, he looked forward to trips to Branson, Mo., with his wife Elizabeth.
He is survived by his daughter, Linda (Michael) Eagan; son, Steven Sailor; grandchildren, Vincent (Annie) Eagan, Adrienne (fiancé, Isaiah) Eagan, Evan Sailor, and Lauren Sailor. Otis is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Elizabeth Sailor; and sisters, Bernice Miller, Gladys Swihart, and Ruth Keyser.
Services will be held at 4 p.m. on Monday, December 11, 2023, at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road, Fishers. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rice Cemetery in Elkhart at a later date.
