OneZone Chamber releases 2026 Legislative Survey results

OneZone Chamber of Commerce has released the results of its annual Legislative Survey, providing valuable insight into the policy issues that matter most to the Hamilton County business community.

Each year, OneZone conducts this survey to ensure the voice of business is heard as state lawmakers prepare for the upcoming legislative session. The findings help guide the Chamber’s advocacy efforts and inform the development of its official 2026 Legislative Agenda.

“Our legislative survey allows us to hear directly from our members about the issues that impact their operations, workforce, and growth,” OneZone President and CEO Jack Russell said. “It’s a key part of how we make sure our advocacy reflects the real-world needs and opportunities facing Hamilton County businesses.”

The top five issues identified in the 2026 Legislative Survey were:

  1. Quality of Place Investments – Enhancing community amenities, infrastructure, and livability to attract residents and employers.
  2. Economic Development Incentives – Supporting tools and policies that help grow jobs, attract investment, and strengthen regional competitiveness.
  3. Support for Local Government Authority – Preserving local decision-making power and flexibility for municipalities.
  4. Education & K-12 Funding – Ensuring Indiana’s education system remains strong and responsive to future workforce needs.
  5. Employee Health & Wellness – Encouraging initiatives that promote healthier workplaces and support overall employee well-being.

“These results underscore what we consistently hear from our members – investing in people, place, and local collaboration remains central to Hamilton County’s long-term success,” Russell added.

OneZone Chamber will use the survey findings to shape its 2026 Legislative Agenda, which will be shared later this year ahead of the Indiana General Assembly’s next session.
