Toni Dickover, a 1965 graduate of Noblesville High School and lifelong Noblesville resident, will receive the ‘Golden Hoosier’ award from Lieutenant Governor Suzanne Crouch during a virtual ceremony today.
The Golden Hoosier Award “recognizes outstanding older Hoosiers for service to their communities.” It acknowledges local heroes who have positively impacted their community through a lifetime of dedication and perseverance.
Dickover has served the community for decades, serving on the Noblesville Main Street, Arcadia Arts and Heritage and Nickel Plate Express boards. She has previously received awards from the Noblesville Preservation Alliance and Noblesville Chamber of Commerce. Dickover is also responsible for managing business operations for her church, Christ United Methodist of Westfield. A proud Miller, Dickover is responsible for organizing frequent reunions of her 1965 Noblesville class, which includes community leaders such as Steve Dillinger and local business owner Stephen Craig.
Dickover will be honored specifically for her most recent volunteer work as Nickel Plate Heritage Railroad former board chair and treasurer. Additionally, she logs numerous volunteer hours assisting passengers on weekend train rides.
“Toni has been instrumental in the preservation of an active railroad in Noblesville,” said Nickel Plate Express Director Dagny Zupin. “She has continued to enrich Noblesville and Hamilton County with her passion, dedication and unparalleled work ethic. It has been an incredible pleasure and honor to work alongside Toni at the Nickel Plate Express and I am proud to count her as a friend.”
The virtual Golden Hoosier ceremony is being live streamed this morning at 10 a.m. Viewers can watch at this link.
