A historical plaque shown here was unveiled Saturday to mark the location of the former Carmel High School (CHS) and recognize the two evergreen trees that still remain flanking a walk to the school. The CHS class of 1971 donated funds for the bronze plaque as they celebrated their 50-year reunion. (Above, from left) Jay Cotton, 1945 CHS graduate; Debbie Gangstad, 1971 graduate; and Phyllis Rockhill, retired Carmel teacher. Gangstad is director of the Carmel Clay Historical Society and leader of the plaque project.
