Noblesville’s annual event that is the sought after “kickoff to summer on the square” was unfortunately postponed twice in 2020 due to the pandemic. Uncertainty in early 2021 also postponed the planning process of the event that hosts more than 1,000 onlookers on the downtown square.
However, a decision has been made to host the Darlington Bed Race bigger and better than ever to kick off Summer 2022.
The event that supports the Boys & Girls Club of Noblesville and Noblesville Parks & Recreation raises funds to support youth scholarships for camp programs that take place during out-of-school times. Postponing the event will still allow both organizations to benefit from using proceeds to support local youth scholarships throughout year.
“Each year the Bed Race raises money to fund scholarships for youth programs,” said BGCN Unit Director Abby Stutesman. “These scholarships provide positive, engaging activities for local children that are needed now more than ever. Youth are needing the freedom and social connections that our organizations offer, and families are needing the financial assistance that events like the Bed Race make possible.”
Since its inception, the annual Bed Race has been title sponsored by Darlington Snacks.
“The Darlington Bed Race offers so many great benefits to our community,” said Darlington Snacks CEO Phil Hockemeyer. “While the event has been postponed another year, we’re still dedicated to supporting local families now and for many years to come. One of our initiatives to do so is our snack program that provides food to families throughout the year. We look forward to the 2022 Bed Race with great anticipation, and are excited to continue to be a part of this event into the future.”
Sponsorship and partnership opportunities to support the event will be made available, and teams will be able to reserve their spot in the 10th annual event. For information, questions and requests, email Stutesman, at astutesman@bgcni.org.
