At 1:32 p.m. on Thursday, Noblesville police officers responded to the parking lot of Walmart Supercenter, 16865 Clover Road, Noblesville, in reference to a report of two children left unattended in a vehicle.
Officers arrived on the scene a short time later and made contact with the complainant. The complainant directed officers to the vehicle which was later identified as a 2009 Dodge Caravan. Once at the vehicle, officers discovered two small children inside. The children were later determined to be siblings, ages 2 and 4.
Both children were restrained in car seats with the windows rolled down approximately six inches and the vehicle was not running. The outdoor temperature at the time of the investigation was 88 degrees.
The driver of the vehicle and mother of the children was later located at the Walmart. She was identified as Liudmila V. Eaton, 40, Noblesville. At the conclusion of the investigation, Eaton was arrested and transported to the Hamilton County Jail on the following preliminary charges: two counts of Neglect of a Dependent (I.C. 35-46-1-4) Felony 6.
A charge is merely an accusation and the defendant(s) is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
