Noblesville Schools announced last month that it has named a new dean at Noblesville High School (NHS), the new leader of the Little Millers Preschool and the Miller Explorers before- and after-school program, and the new strength and conditioning coach at NHS.

Van Hook

Olszewski

New dean at NHS

Barb Olszewski, one of the district’s 2019 Teachers of the Year, will step into the role of NHS dean after serving as a resource teacher and the special education department chair at Noblesville West Middle School. Olszewski has been with Noblesville Schools for 11 years and replaces former dean Janae Mobley, who was appointed to an assistant principal position at NHS earlier in July. She holds a master’s in educational leadership from the University of Indianapolis.

Leading Little Millers

Kayla Van Hook will take over the leadership of the Little Millers Preschool and Miller Explorers programs from Ginger Jimenez, who was recently named the new assistant principal at White River Elementary. Van Hook has served as White River’s music teacher for the last five years and has also been active with the district’s educational neuroscience and diversity initiatives. She holds a master’s in educational leadership from Purdue University.

New strength, conditioning coach at NHS

Meador

Mitch Meador has been named strength and conditioning coach at NHS, replacing Brian Clarke who recently resigned.

Meador comes to NHS from Purdue University, where he served as assistant strength and conditioning director for the football and cheerleading programs. Prior to that role, he was assistant strength and conditioning coach with the University of Tennessee’s football program.

“Mitch brings a collegiate-level perspective to our strength and conditioning program, as well as a big heart for working with kids,” said NHS Athletic Director Leah Wooldridge. “We’re excited to welcome him to NHS athletics as we start this new school year.”

Certified as a strength and conditioning specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association, Meador also holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Cincinnati. He has been an active leader in youth community outreach, dedicating time and fundraising in support of low income children, children with illnesses, and youth literacy initiatives.
