Noblesville Mayor Chris Jensen announced Friday the issuance of an executive order as part of a multi-faceted strategy to address the evolving coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Jensen executed Executive Order No. 20-01 effective March 20.
“Issuing an executive order allows us to communicate clear parameters and enforce restrictions on door to door solicitations as well as close city buildings including public safety buildings except in the case of emergencies in an effort to mitigate person-to-person contact,” Jensen said. “This situation is evolving every hour and we are keeping in contact with key local, state and federal officials to stay up to date on the latest recommendations. We continue to urge the public to practice social distancing, refrain from non-essential gatherings, wash their hands and be observant of symptoms.”
Public health officials are asking residents to avoid unnecessary travel, self-quarantine where appropriate, and work from home to the extent possible. This preventative measure to suspend in-person solicitation is necessary to avoid spread of COVID-19, particularly in relation to individuals in higher-risk segments of our population.
The City of Noblesville government remains open to continue to provide essential service to ensure the safety and well-being of residents. The city would like to remind the community that all permit applications, forms, and online bill paying can be accessed at cityofnoblesville.org.
