On Wednesday, the Noblesville Lions Club welcomed Melissa Ackerman and Amy Ayers to speak on food safety.

Ackerman and Ayers work for the Hamilton County Health Department and came to update the club on its food safety guidelines. The club offers food service at some of its events, and members wanted to be updated on any guideline requirements.

The presentation was detailed, covering many subjects. Some of the areas covered were permits and paperwork, food transportation, handwashing, serving, cooking and grilling, food handling, cold storage, reheating, cleaning and sanitizing, etc.

With the “Grillin’ on the Square” coming up at the end of May, the club wanted to ensure the event was safe, tasty, and fun for everyone!
