Noblesville graduate Caroline Whallon helped the University of Indianapolis women’s golf team to another Division II national championship last week.

The Greyhounds won their third national title since 2015, beating St. Mary’s (Texas) in a playoff Saturday at the Orange County National course in Winter Garden, Fla. The two teams were tied at 2-2 after the finish of match play in the championship match, which necessitated a playoff. UIndy finished the playoff one under par to get the victory.

Whallon helped out by winning her final-round match by one stroke, making a birdie on the 16th hole. Whallon is one of two freshman that played on the Greyhounds’ first five at nationals.
