Westfield Washington Schools (WWS) announces the addition of orchestra instruction beginning in the 2026-2027 school year. Sixth-grade students at Westfield Middle School will have the opportunity to participate in strings class as the district continues to expand its already strong performing arts programming.
Leading the new program is Jessica Savage, an accomplished strings instructor and performer with extensive experience in music education and orchestral performance. Savage holds degrees in Music Education and Harp Performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, along with a master’s degree in education.
Prior to joining WWS, she taught orchestra programs in Washington Township and Fairfax County, Va., where her ensembles consistently earned Gold with Distinction and Superior ratings. She also served as an adjunct professor of music at Butler University, teaching string techniques for future music educators.
As a professional musician, Savage has performed with several respected ensembles, including the Kentucky Symphony, McLean Orchestra, Reston Symphony, and Fairfax Wind Ensemble.
“I am incredibly excited to build and grow the orchestra program in Westfield and I look forward to contributing to the district’s already vibrant performing arts community,” Savage said.
The orchestra program will create future opportunities for students to continue their strings education as they progress through WWS.
