The 50th anniversary of the Atlanta New Earth festival went very well. The weather was beautiful, and record crowds visited, with Saturday being the biggest day.

The town added a Saturday evening concert and a Duke Energy-sponsored fireworks show to celebrate the 50th anniversary. The fireworks could be seen throughout the town and the surrounding area.

Nickel Plate Express provided rides between Hobbs Station in Noblesville and Atlanta, and they were sold out.

Festival vendors were pleased and are eager to run return next year. Visitors enjoyed entertainment from talented musicians all weekend long on the Mark Heirbrandt Stage while resting in one of the hospitality tents. Children enjoyed the free Kids Zone as well.

All of this would not be possible without the support of sponsors this year, the number of which was as a record. Sponsors were well-recognized throughout the festival.

Thank you to everyone who came to Atlanta, and we look forward to next year’s New Earth Festival!

Editor’s note: Farley told The Reporter a festival like this could never happen without all their wonderful sponsors, all of whom were listed on clear signage at the festival itself, on the information flier handed out at the festival, on the Town of Atlanta’s Facebook page, and in various media outlets including this newspaper, on Hamilton County Television webcasts, and on radio stations WFMS and WWKI.

The 50th annual Atlanta New Earth Festival went off with a bang! In addition to the over 600 vendors and tens of thousands of visitors, Saturday night’s fireworks show sponsored by Duke Energy was an incredible sight. Read The Reporter’s Wednesday, Sept. 27 edition for full coverage.
