Nancy Ann Dent, 86, Atlanta, Ind., passed away on February 9, 2023, at her home surrounded by loved ones.
She was born December 8, 1936, in Atlanta, Ind., to Shirl and Marion (Dewey) Jackson. She grew up in Atlanta and attended what was known then as Atlanta Grade School, then proceeded to attend and graduate from Jackson Central High School with the Class of 1955.
Nancy married the love of her life, Harold Ray Dent, on September 28, 1956, and Nancy began her new role as homemaker. She and her husband were blessed with two sons and a daughter and later grandchildren. She and Harold loved spending time with their expanding family.
When able, Nancy was an active member of Atlanta Christian Church. She also like to read, crochet, see movies, go shopping, camping, boating, and fishing, dine out, and play cards.
Surviving her is a daughter, Lisa Ann (Bob) Jeffries of Atlanta; sons, Harold Ray Dent, Jr. of Arcadia and Robert Allen Dent of Alvaton, Ky.; a brother, Jim (Brenda) Jackson of Kokomo; sisters, Judy (Larry) Alley of Tipton and Peggy (Bill) Stokes of Atlanta; grandchildren, Cortney, Christopher, and Sarah; a great-grandchild, Charlotte; plus several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Ray Dent, and a brother, Robert Jackson.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at the Atlanta Christian Church, 200 E. Main St., Atlanta, with Pastor Jody Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Tipton. A time of visitation will be from noon until time of the services.
