Fishers police are investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash that happened on Friday on Olio Road north of 96th Street.
Shortly before 5:30 p.m. this past Friday, the Fishers Police Department responded to a motor vehicle crash involving a blue Honda CRV and a black Yamaha XSR motorcycle. Upon arrival, officers observed both vehicles in the roadway.
The driver of the Honda, Jose Lucas Lugo Padua, 79, McCordsville, sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene. The driver of the Yamaha, James Michael Alexander Douglas, 26, Indianapolis, suffered critical injuries and was transported to an area hospital by paramedics from the Fishers Department of Fire and Emergency Services, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The Fishers Police Department Crash Investigation Team responded to the scene. Preliminary evidence and witness statements indicate the crash occurred when the Yamaha, traveling northbound, collided with the Honda as it was turning southbound from Geist Crossing Road. This crash remains under investigation.
