Motor Vehicle Crash Investigation at SR 37 and Greenfield Ave.

On June 14, 2017 at approximately 6:54 a.m., police officers and firefighters from the Noblesville Police & Fire Departments responded to the intersection of SR 37 and Greenfield Ave. (Noblesville) in reference to a report of a motor vehicle crash involving two vehicles. Officers and firefighters arrived on the scene a short time later and began to investigate.

Based on witness statements and evidence at the scene, it appears that a 2006 International cargo truck was traveling in the left lane of northbound SR 37 when it drifted over into the westbound turn lane for Greenfield Ave. As a result, the International collided into the rear of a 2008 Chevy Aveo that was stopped in traffic waiting to turn westbound onto Greenfield Ave.

The driver of the Chevy was identified as Taylor N. Hof, 20, of Indianapolis, IN. Hof was transported by ground ambulance to St. Vincent (Indianapolis). Her injuries were characterized as non-life threa ting. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.

The driver of the International was identified as Michael L. Schinlaub, Jr., 30, of Elwood, IN. Schinlaub was treated and released at the scene. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.

Investigators from the NPD Accident Reconstruction Unit were summons to the scene to collect evidence and gather information. As a result of the investigation, lanes of SR 37 and Greenfield Ave. were either restricted and/or closed until approximately 10:00 a.m.

This remains an ongoing investigation. Intoxication and weather do not appear to be contributing factors in the crash.
