Noblesville finished up its Tennessee trip Saturday with a 7-2 win over Shelbyville Central (Tenn.).
The Millers rushed out to a 4-0 lead after the first inning. Kolbi Kazmierski and Nolan Decker led off with back-to-back walks, with Kazmierski stealing second, then scoring. Decker got home when Trevor Corbett hit a single. Corbett later scored on a wild pitch, then Josh Kern got home on an RBI pop-out by Luke Wilson.
Noblesville scored two more runs in the third inning. Corbett was doubled home by Bryce Riggs, who then scored on Kern’s RBI groundout.
The Millers added another run in the sixth inning. Conner Bloss hit a double to get on base, then Joe Glander came in to run for him. Glander scored immediately, as Kazmierski’s left field double got him home.
Kazmierski was 2-for-3 at the plate. Ty Haley pitched five innings for the win, tossing eight strikeouts.
Noblesville is 2-2 and plays its home opener at Don Dunker Field Wednesday, hosting Avon.
