The first of at least two Indiana locations of a milkshake and chocolate maker is set to open soon.
The Indianapolis north side will celebrate the opening of MilkShake Factory from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 12 at the Nora Plaza shopping center in the former Garbanzo Mediterranean Fresh location. That’s off East 86th Street west of Westfield Road.
The first hours of food will come with music, giveaways, and a special buy-one-get-one-free offer on all shakes, sundaes, and “molten cups” featuring fruit and house-made whipped cream topped with melted milk chocolate.
Franchise partners Kindall Palmer and Alex Chandler said in a news release issued Monday that they plan to open several MilkShake Factory locations in Indianapolis. The MilkShake Factory website says a future location is planned for 8932 E. U.S. 36, the Avon Commons shopping center in Hendricks County about a mile west of Ronald Reagan Parkway.
MilkShake Factory began in 1914 in Pittsburgh.
