December 21, 1940 – June 5, 2026
Michaelene “Michey” Brock Mills, 85, Noblesville, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026, after a courageous battle with dementia. Born on December 21, 1940, in Maysville, Ky., she was the eldest daughter of Oscar and Geneva (Sullivan) Brock.
Michey was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest joy was supporting her family. Whether attending school events, athletic competitions, or community activities, she was always cheering on those she loved. A proud Noblesville Miller fan, she faithfully followed generations of her family and close student-athletes, as if they were her own, proudly celebrating their success.
Alongside her late husband, Bobby Mills, Michey helped support the vision that became Noblesville Youth Baseball and the Bobby Mills Field of Dreams. In NYB’s early years, she and her dear friend, Darlene Wood, managed the concession stand, working many hours and late nights, recruiting family and friends to help wherever needed. She was a woman who showed up for her family, her friends, her community, and the countless kids and families connected to Noblesville Youth Baseball.
Michey enjoyed an active and vibrant life. She was a five-time Ladies 9-Hole Champion at Harbor Trees Golf Club, volunteered with Hamilton County Meals on Wheels for more than 20 years, loved antiques, finding bargains at garage sales, gardening, and auctions, and treasured weekly bridge games with friends at Ginger’s Cafe. Her warm personality and gift for conversation made friends of everyone she met. Michey appeared to know someone everywhere she went, which paints a picture of a life well lived and well loved.
Michey is survived by her children, Zella (Eric) Hendrickson, Bryan (Cathie) Mills, and Kent (Teresa) Mills, all of Noblesville; and her sister, Zella (Vincent) Rosenthall of Winchester, Ky.
She was a proud grandmother to 11 grandchildren: Laney (Robert) Buergelin of Noblesville; Leif (Kara) Hendrickson of Cincinnati, Ohio; Melissa (Andrew) Kennedy of Carmel; Molly Elkins of Denver, Colo.; Brandon (Abby) Mills and Dusty (Halie) Mills, both of Noblesville; Jake Mills and Nick Mills of Indianapolis; Zach (Erika) Mills of Whitestown; Bobbi (Brian) Hakes of Fishers, and Kyle (Jamie) Monday of Kentucky.
She was also blessed with 16 great-grandchildren. In addition to her immediate family, Michey was cherished by a large extended family of cousins, nieces, nephews, and their families. She treasured the time spent with them and the many memories they created together over the years.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bobby Allen Mills; her sisters, Sally (Bob) Stanley and Christy (Carl) Sanders; and her grandson, Lance Hendrickson.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the caring staff at Magnolia Springs of Bridgewater, especially the Memory Care team, who lovingly nicknamed Michey “Sleeping Beauty” and stood with the family, shedding tears when she passed. A special thanks also to the compassionate team of “Angels” from Enlight Hospice: Trish, Lori, Cassandra, Amy, and Christy, for their exceptional care, guidance, and support during Michey’s final days. She was surrounded by love until her very last breath.
Michey will be remembered for her kindness, unwavering support of family and community, quick wit, and the countless friendships she nurtured throughout her life. Her legacy lives on in the family she cherished and the community she loved.
May God grant Mom eternal rest, reunite her with Dad, and bring comfort and strength to her children and her entire family and friends in the days ahead. Amen.
