Meet Aspire’s new leader, Anthony Sheehan

This month marks a momentous occasion as Antony Sheehan begins his term as President & Executive Officer of Aspire Indiana Health. He brings a reputation as a tireless advocate for bringing healthcare services to the underserved.

“I’m so proud to have joined Aspire and plan to spend the next few months connecting with key stakeholders, from local and state elected officials to our colleagues at other healthcare organizations,” Sheehan said. “We share a commitment to improve the health and wellbeing of those we serve. I look forward to being your ally and partner.”

Sheehan, brings a variety of experiences from his work in Europe and the U.S. He relocated to Indiana from Massachusetts where he was CEO of a community Behavioral Health System. He began his career in his native United Kingdom as a clinical nurse specializing in mental health and addiction, he also served as a senior civil servant in Tony Blair’s government and as a health system CEO.

Sheehan came to the U.S. to undertake a year-long fellowship at The Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) in Cambridge Mass. After his time at IHI, he began his U.S. career in Memphis, Tenn., as president of a health center and community health advisor in a large health system.
