Man wanted for murder in Alabama hit with more charges in Hamilton County

On Aug. 31, Carmel police officers were made aware of a stolen vehicle, possibly related to a homicide, that occurred earlier that week in Huntsville, Ala.

Blinks

Officers located the vehicle on Willowmere Drive in Carmel at approximately 9:10 p.m. Officers observed a subject, later determined to be Damon A. Blinks, 28, leaving the area while operating the stolen vehicle.

When officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the suspect initiated a pursuit attempting to evade officers, sometimes at high speed. The suspect eventually stopped the vehicle and fled on foot on Aqueduct Way. A short time later, Blinks was apprehended by Carmel police officers.

Blinks was transported to the Hamilton County Jail on local charges. Additionally, he will await extradition to Huntsville, Ala., for a capital murder charge.

  • Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Serious Violent Felon
  • Unlawful Carrying of a Handgun
  • Resisting Law Enforcement Using a Vehicle
  • Resisting Law Enforcement
  • Theft: Possession of Stolen Property
