Experienced business executive, civic leader, and Carmel resident Danny Lopez has officially filed as a candidate for Indiana House District 39.

Lopez will be on the ballot in the Republican primary on May 7.

“Since launching my campaign in October, the outpouring of support has been tremendous because voters in Carmel and Westfield are hungry for the hopeful, forward-thinking, solutions-oriented vision we are casting,” Lopez said. “I am running to address the biggest challenges our communities face. I look forward to speaking with voters and earning their trust in the months ahead, and I’m excited and ready to serve.”

Lopez’s campaign is co-chaired by leading Hamilton County Republicans Sue Finkam, Mayor of Carmel, and Scott Willis, Mayor of Westfield.

Lopez, a senior executive with Pacers Sports & Entertainment, has enjoyed a 20-year career as a leader in the private and public sectors. He has held leadership positions in the Daniels, Pence, and Holcomb administrations and was state Director for Indiana Senator Dan Coats. Lopez has also served on the boards of directors of a long list of impactful not-for-profit organizations.

He and his wife, Sofia, live in Carmel with their two children, Daniel and Alexandra.

Indiana’s 39th District is located entirely within Hamilton County, including portions of Carmel and Westfield. It is being vacated with the upcoming retirement of Rep. Jerry Torr.
