Longtime FSA employee Traci Merida set to retire

The agricultural communities of Tipton, Hamilton, and Howard counties have been well-served by Traci Merida’s dedication and commitment to the Farm Service Agency (FSA) throughout a 40-year career with the USDA.

Merida began work for the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service (ASCS) in March 1986 as a temporary Program Technician. She then became a full-time permanent Program Technician in October 1986. She was then promoted to serve as Program Technician in Charge from 2015 to 2018 and became a County Executive Director in September 2018.

Merida currently serves as CED for Tipton, Hamilton, and Howard counties. It is only due to her knowledge, experience, and dedication that the FSA can provide excellent service to the agriculture community of these three counties.

Merida is an efficient, effective, collaborative, principled, and empathetic leader. She has professionally represented the ASCS/FSA throughout her 40-year career and will be retiring this coming Fall.

The staff of the Tipton, Hamilton, and Howard county offices will host a Retirement Open House for Traci Merida from 2 to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 17, at the Tipton Hamilton County FSA Office, 243 Ash St., Suite A, Tipton.
