Lola Maxine Stephens

July 18, 1928 – April 19, 2022

Lola Maxine Stephens, 93, Noblesville, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at Five Star Residences of Noblesville. She was born on July 18, 1928, to Ray and Myrtle (Cooper) Millikan in Noblesville.

Throughout her life, Lola loved to work, whether as a nursing home laundry attendant or at home taking care of her children and her husband’s siblings. She was a Christian with very strong faith. Lola enjoyed reading, cooking, gardening, and music, especially Kitty Wells. She also liked looking after her neighborhood.

Lola is survived by her children, Betty Noakes, Dixie (Dennis) Hill, Kenneth E. (Vickie) Stephens, and Brenda (Brian) Lunsford; nine grandchildren, Linda (David) Echols, Gail (Mark) Boatwright, Dawn Mode, Denise (Bobby) LaShure, Kenneth Lee (Jennifer) Burton, Timothy Burton, Madeline Stephens, Bryan Lunsford, and Brad Lunsford; sister, Marilyn “Susie” (James) Clark; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Otha Stephens; and her siblings, Wilkie Millikan, Catherine Basey, Raymond Millikan, Bobbie Millikan, Billie Millikan, Charles Millikan, Donald Millikan, and David Millikan.

Private family services will be held with burial at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.
