Local students benefit from IMCU’s charitable giving

Indiana Members Foundation, the charitable arm of Indiana Members Credit Union (IMCU), has provided 5,000 backpacks and 104,400 school supplies to local community organizations to help provide assistance to underserved children in the communities served by IMCU for the 2020 school year.

Since 2006, Indiana Members Foundation has donated more than 59,000 backpacks and more than 1,061,400 school supplies to students in need in the communities served by Indiana Members Credit Union.

In Hamilton County, the Indiana Members Foundation partnered with the following organizations for its 2020 backpack donation:

  • Merciful HELP Center of Camel
  • Open Doors – Westfield
  • Noblesville Schools

Mandy Emery, vice president of community involvement for IMCU and executive director of Indiana Members Foundation, said, “With all the uncertainties that the pandemic has created this year, the need for backpacks and school supplies has been larger than previous years. The generous support of our employees, members and partners didn’t slow down. We were able to continue our mission of putting the tools essential to succeed in school into the hands of those with the biggest need. We purchased 5,000 backpacks filled with school supplies to donate to 17 organizations and schools that support the youth in the communities served by IMCU. Having the tools necessary to learn at the start of school has proven to be essential for students to be successful throughout the year. We can’t thank you enough!”
