The Midwest Homeschool Expo has announced that the talented family band, Heads of Stone, will perform live at this year’s event, including their original song, “Broken Stones.”

The band, comprised of the Heddleston brothers: Xander, 12, on guitar, Lincoln, 10, on guitar, and Eli, 8, on drums. Their dynamic sound, which blends rock and pop has already earned them a growing fanbase as they play often around the Hamilton County area, and they recently became the 2024 Battle of the Bands Elementary Division winners.

The Heddleston brothers take lessons at local music school Bach To Rock in Carmel. They have been playing together since they were very young, and their strong family bond is evident in their seamless harmonies and tight-knit performances.

“We are thrilled to have Heads of Stone perform at the Midwest Homeschool Expo,” Event Director Jean Lee said. “Their passion for music and incredible talent will inspire and entertain attendees, showcasing the amazing possibilities of homeschool education.”

In addition to their musical performance, the Heddleston brothers will participate in a Q&A session, sharing their experiences of balancing homeschooling with music and lessons. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the band, ask questions, and gain insight into the unique homeschooling journey that has shaped their success.

The Midwest Homeschool Expo will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 22 at Ascension St. Vincent Education Center, 1801 W. 86th St., Indianapolis. The event will include a vendor hall featuring homeschool curricula companies, businesses offering educational programs, local activities providers, special needs services, and colleges. There will be over 100 presentations for parents, workshops for children, and exhibitors.

“The Midwest Homeschool Expo is more than just a homeschool conference; it’s an inclusive community gathering that recognizes each child has unique learning needs, celebrates diversity and provides valuable resources for families who choose any method of home education,” said Jean Lee, Event Director of the Midwest Homeschool Expo. “We are excited to offer a space where families can explore alternative learning options, connect with local resources and grow relationships as we all learn together.”
