Local artist concerts return for sixth season

Local Mix series puts original Indiana music onstage & online

Original music by Indiana-based artists will continue to have a home next season at Allied Solutions Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel.

Five bands representing a range of genres will perform in the 2025-2026 Local Mix Music Series, previously known as “Live at the Center.” All shows will take place at 7:30 p.m. weeknights at the Tarkington theater, 3 Carter Green, Carmel.

Admission is just $10 to attend in person at the Tarkington, and other fans can watch the livestream and archived video free on Allied Solutions Center’s Facebook and YouTube pages. Each set is streamed and recorded in multicamera HD video and stereo sound.

King Bee & The Stingers (blues/soul)
7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7
The Tarkington

King Bee & The Stingers is a six-piece band from Bloomington, Ind. Several KBS singles have been distributed by Sony Orchard and are being played on hundreds of radio stations across the world, including singles from KBS’s second album, Don’t Move So Fast, completed in 2023, and the 2024 release Live from the Slippery Noodle, which has received rave reviews worldwide.

The Wallow Hollows (folk rock)
7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11
The Tarkington

The Wallow Hollows was founded in 2015 by songwriters Jonathan Hunter (lead vocals) and Dakota Girton (guitar), later by Jordan Willocks (drums), Ryan Webster (bass), and Dakota Huckaby (electric guitar). They have played more than 250 shows across multiple states at venues including the Bluebird Café and the Stillery in Nashville, Tenn., as well as Hi-Fi, 8 Seconds Saloon, and the Rathskeller in Indianapolis. Their 2023 debut album, Carry On, has been followed by several singles, with more releases slated for 2025.

Teresa Reynolds and the Slicktones (R&B/soul)

Formed in 2021, Teresa Reynolds and the Slicktones have performed around Indianapolis and in New York City, where lead singer and songwriter Teresa Reynolds was based for more than 14 years while touring as a backup singer for Gloria Gaynor, singing for Central Park audiences with “That Guitar Man” David Ippolito, and writing and releasing two solo albums. The Slicktones are Indianapolis heavy hitters Mina Keohane, Poncho Hedrick, Matthew Dupree, and Joshua Ginder.

The Operators (ska/reggae)
7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 2, 2026

The Operators formed in 2018 from members of Indianapolis ska/punk bands the Circle City Deacons, Harley Poe, Lockstep, and Indien, later joined by lead vocalist Brittany Brumfield.

The group delivers a mix of neo-traditional ska sounds with the energy of punk, marked by shifting tempos and rhythms and bright and tight horn arrangements. Recordings have included Leave the Light On (2021) and Self-Titled Second Album (2024) on Chicago’s JumpUp Records.

Northside Exchange (jazz/funk)
7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2026
The Tarkington

Northside Exchange was founded in 2022 in Indianapolis by guitarist/vocalist/producer Joseph Filipow and drummer/producer Darnell Perkins, with rising star Daniel Hicks on keyboards. The band has opened for jazz legend Branford Marsalis, performed at Carmel Jazz Fest, and backed esteemed Indianapolis vocalists Goldie, Marielle Sellars, Blair Clark and other notable artists. The group’s 2023 debut single “Steppin’” is available on all major streaming platforms.
