Noblesville’s smallest city park will shine again this winter as Lights Over Seminary begins Friday, Dec. 6 with a lighting ceremony at 6 p.m. This is a collaboration between the city and Noblesville Preservation Alliance and Main Street. Lights Over Seminary is powered by Duke Energy.
“Lights Over Seminary is a walkable, holiday lights display in Seminary Park that will focus on history,” Noblesville Mayor John Ditslear said. “Once again, restored vintage decorations used by the city in the past will be on display and will help brighten the night once again along with the picturesque Noblesville sign.”

The lights will be turned on for the first time at 6 p.m. Friday. The ceremony will include carolers (5:30 to 6 p.m.), a brass quintet (6 to 7 p.m.) and music (7 to 8 p.m.), along with free hot chocolate throughout the evening. NPA will have an informational booth on their organization and the history of Seminary Park. Lights Over Seminary is one of multiple trolley stops that evening as part of First Friday. Other stops include Federal Hill Commons, Nickle Plate Arts, Hamilton County Artists Association and the downtown square.
“Seminary Park is a beloved asset in Noblesville, and it is wonderful to have the chance to shine a spotlight on it. The new additions and updated park layout will give our community a chance to get outside and create memories together this holiday season,” Noblesville Economic Development Specialist Aaron Head said.
This is the second year for Lights Over Seminary, which is free to attend. Following Friday’s ceremony, the lighting will be on from 5 to 11 p.m. nightly through December.
Prior to the lighting ceremony at 5:45 p.m., Ditslear will cut the ribbon reopening Seminary Park following the renovations that took part this fall under the supervision of the Noblesville Parks Department.
