Sheridan High School is sponsoring a FAFSA Completion Night at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1 in the SHS Media Center. Experts will be on hand to answer parent/guardian questions and help get them started on completing the FAFSA – the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
Securing financing for a college education is an important part of the higher education journey, SHS principal Rick Davis explained. The FAFSA form allows students to request federal grants, work-study, and loans, all in one application. In addition, Davis said even if families do not think they qualify for federal aid they should complete the form.
“In addition, to potential state and federal grants and loans, many colleges use the FAFSA as a tool to distribute their own aid,” Davis said.
Families will also have the opportunity to meet new high school counselor Mrs. Jessi Cantlon. Families can direct questions to the guidance office or Principal Rick Davis at (317) 758-4431.
