Learn about senior mental health at July’s Retirement Journey meeting

The next meeting of Retirement Journey: Now What? is set for 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 9 in the East Room at the Fishers Library, 5 Municipal Drive. You are invited to join in as event organizers continue to explore ways to assist retirees in finding their purpose and apply their skills and experience in meeting needs in Hamilton County.

Cynthia Reynolds, LCSW, Care Coordinator at Eskenazi Health Aging Brain Center, will be the guest speaker at the July meeting. She will speak about the pervasive amount of depression in seniors, recognition, treatments, barriers to care, and what you can do to help.

Everyone has been or will be impacted at some level by this issue. Reynolds is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing short term, goal-oriented therapy to patients with Mild Cognitive Impairment and co-occurring depression and/or anxiety. In addition, she provides therapy to patients in the nationally recognized Critical Care Recovery Center who are experiencing PTSD and/or depression stemming from a recent ICU admission. She is a current student of the Center for Health Innovation and Implementation Science and is excited to be an agent of change in healthcare.

Reynolds is owner of a private practice on the northeast side of Indianapolis, providing services to adults and teens. She is a graduate of Valparaiso University and received her Master’s Degree from Loyola University Chicago.
