CCC Breakfast

It was an inspiring and unforgettable morning at our 16th annual Create, Connect, and Commit Fundraising Breakfast last month. The Janus choir kicked off the event with an amazing performance of the song, “Lean on Me” By Bill Withers, followed by a powerful video testimony from one of our participants.

For the first time ever, we welcomed “The Chalk Guy,” Ben Glenn, to present a breathtaking live art performance created with – you guessed it – chalk! During his performance, Glenn also shared his personal journey with ADHD and how he has overcome his own obstacles. Each guest left with a deeper understanding of what it looks like to live with a disability, and exactly how Janus is passionately supporting people towards achieving their goals.

Coffee Bar

Thanks to a generous sponsorship by Indiana Members Credit Union, Janus is now able to offer a weekly coffee bar every Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. This has quickly become everyone’s favorite way to start the week. Coffee Bar is a great place to volunteer, serve coffee, and get to know our participants.

Financial Planning Workshop for Janus families

Gordon Homes is hosting a financial planning workshop for Janus Families on Tuesday, May 14 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Click here to learn more.

Janus artists showcased at Indianapolis International Airport

Kelsey gets her dream job

Photo provided by Janus Developmental Services, Inc.

Kelsey has a bright and sunny personality. She loves her family and all things Disney.

Kelsey began looking for a job in the community in addition to her current jobs working twice a month at the Janus Capabilities Café in Noblesville, and at Janus Developmental Services twice a week. She was open to working anywhere, but expressed a desire to work someplace where she could put her excellent organizational skills to good use. She was very excited when she learned that a new Goodwill store was opening close to her home and couldn’t wait to apply for a job. After she submitted her application, it wasn’t long before she found out she was hired!

This was Kelsey’s first time accepting a job in the community. Congratulations Kelsey!

Hamilton County Master Gardeners are back

You know it is spring time if the Master Gardeners are here. Hamilton County Master Gardeners work side by side with Janus participants to grow a variety of vegetables and flowers in our gardens. They are hard at work even in the colder months to prepare seeds for planting. Then, participants learn how to water, weed, and tend to the garden as the seeds grow. Eventually, we are able to harvest what we have grown and enjoy it together.

It is a wonderful experience to learn the entire process, from seed to harvest, alongside the experts of Hamilton County Master Gardeners. We are grateful for their dedication and passion for volunteering in this way.
