The Hamilton Heights cross country teams hosted their annual Landes Invitational on Thursday.
Hamilton County teams swept the top two in the boys team standings, with University winning by scoring 62 points. The Huskies were a close second, totaling 64 points.
The Trailblazers landed three runners in the top 10: Noah Laramore and Lucca Conti were third and fourth respectively, then Isaiah Smith placed ninth. Heights’ Preston Miller led the way for his team with a sixth-place finish.
Sheridan had three runners compete; Axel Aleman led the Blackhawks by taking 20th.
In the girls race, the Huskies finished second as a team with University third. Heights’ Maria Mitchell was the race winner, cruising to victory in 18:31, 44 seconds ahead of the second-place runner. Chloe Henderson finished sixth.
Charlotte Kumler paced the Trailblazers with a fourth-place finish. Jada Swearingen took seventh.
