Esther and O’Dell Lakes, owners of a landmark downtown Noblesville business, Smith’s Jewelers, announced they are passing ownership of the business to the Hieser family.

The Hiesers – Robert, Johanna, Phil and Abby – have a total of 75 years in the jewelry business.
Smith’s, located at 9th and Logan streets on Noblesville’s downtown square, has served Hamilton County for more than 70 years.
The business was originally founded by the Smith family from Bedford, Ind. It was then sold it to Claude Shane in 1946. O’Dell Lakes purchased the business from Shane in 1970.
The Lakes have been strong supporters of the Noblesville community for many years through sponsorships and philanthropic efforts.

Dear Editor,
For several decades we have had the pleasure of owning Smith’s Jewelers located on Noblesville’s historic square. However, the time has come for us to begin a new chapter in our lives.
As we pass the ownership to the Hieser family, we would like to thank our customers, our staff, and the community for the many, many years of support and loyalty.
The loyalty of our customers, which in many cases include several generations of the same family, the staff, some of whom have been with us for more than 20 years, and the support of the community fills our hearts with warmth and pride. We feel blessed to be part of such a community. Thank you for your support and friendship for all these years.
Smith’s Jewelers will remain in business under the ownership of the Hieser family, which includes Robert and Johanna Hieser and Phil and Abby Hieser. Collectively they have a total of 75 years’ experience in the jewelry business. Their pledge is to continue the exceptional customer service we provided as well as continuing to support the community.
