Labor Day done in Cicero style

Three-year-old Maddox was so happy with the Jurassic Park jeep at Monday’s car show that his mom was having a hard time getting him to hop off the Triceratops. But really, who doesn’t like dinosaurs . . . and cars?

The 31st annual Cicero Labor Day Car Show was Monday afternoon at Red Bridge Park on Morse Reservoir. The event was a big success, even with the threat of rain on Monday afternoon. A total of 155 cars were entered into the show, lining nearly every square foot of space at Red Bridge Park on the shores of Morse Reservoir.

The Reporter found Roberta Bear in the craft area at Cicero’s 31st Annual Labor Day Car Show. She runs an interesting little business called Oh Sew Cute by Roberta. Roberta makes memory pillows and teddy bears from the shirts of loved ones. All her keepsake pillows and bears, like the one she is holding in this photo, are handmade. If you’d like one of these unique remembrances, you can reach her at (317) 376-2218.

Jean Crusenberry and Nancy Redd were working the bake sale booth for Cicero’s Friends of the Library Monday. By 2 p.m. they had already sold out of many options, which speaks very well to the friends who donated their time to bake for this fundraiser.
