Kroger creates summer vacation bliss in the freezer aisle

Grocer plans giveaway day for new, limited-edition treats

Kroger has captured the essence of summer, one pint at a time, in its new seasonal Summer in a Pint ice cream series. This limited-edition selection features four flavors designed to inspire dreams of summer getaways with no travel needed.

Also, to celebrate the official start of summer, on June 20, the grocer will give away 92,000 pints of ice cream, equivalent to 1,000 pints of ice cream for each of summer’s 92 days.

“We’re thrilled to see the return of the Summer in a Pint collection because it was such a hit with ice cream lovers last year,” said Eric Halvorson, Manager of Corporate Affairs, Kroger Central Division. “This summer’s flavors make the 2025 collection even more enjoyable than the last.”

The 2025 limited-edition collection features four summer-inspired flavors:

• Italian Style Summer Fizz: A blood orange-flavored sherbet infused with popping candy clusters and a blood orange ribbon.
• Fireside Nights: A toasted marshmallow ice cream featuring s’mores pieces and a glittering swirl evoking the glow of a campfire flame.
• Sandy Shores: A coconut-flavored ice cream swirled with a sweet and salty pretzel crunch.
• Poolside Tan Lines: A smooth and sophisticated combination of vanilla bean, chocolate, and coffee ice creams.

The coupon can be redeemed for one of the new Summer in a Pint flavors or any classic Kroger Brand favorite like Deluxe Cookies and Cream or Crumble at participating Kroger Family of Stores locations from Friday, June 20, through Friday, July 4.

Additionally, customers can save $1 on any purchase of two Kroger Brand ice cream pints. This offer is available from noon on Friday, June 20 through Friday, July 4.
