The Hamilton County Extension Homemakers are sponsoring an open Cake Contest during the 2026 Hamilton County 4-H Fair at the Hamilton County 4-H Fairgrounds, 2003 Pleasant St., Noblesville.

The contest is open to any Hamilton County resident or Hamilton County Extension Homemaker over the age of 18.

Entries are submitted for closed judging on Saturday, July 18 in Exhibition Center Hall B on the 4-H Fairgrounds. First-, second-, and third-place winners will receive a prize.

Participants should bring their homemade cake and the recipe, along with a brief essay (50 to 100 words) about why their family loves this cake. Entries will be accepted from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 18. Judging will begin at 2 p.m. There is a $2 entry fee payable at time of entry.

No cakes needing refrigeration will be accepted. Fillings, frostings, glazes, and meringues are not permitted to contain cream cheese, sour cream, heavy cream, or whipped cream if they are not fully cooked or baked.
